What is a Master Technician?
A Master Technician is a highly skilled and experienced technician who has completed advanced training and certification. Master Technicians should be working in the light or heavy vehicle sector and ideally have at least five years experience to ensure they are familiar with the skills, knowledge and techniques required to diagnose and rectify system faults, rectify faults including replacing components, liaise with customers and be able to transfer their technical knowledge to others such as apprentices and technicians.
Your responsibilities
- Documenting the condition of a vehicle at the point of intake
- Ensuring the vehicle is safely and securely positioned on the lift for diagnostics
- Performing all assigned points of inspection
- Keeping detailed logs of all parts, consumables and hours associated with each project
- Reporting the condition of vehicle parts
- Determining the priority of repairs
- Consulting with the Service Manager to complete an estimate for the customer
- Maintaining own set of tools to be used when servicing vehicles
