What is a Deputy Manager?
A Deputy Manager is responsible for the day nursery in the absence of the manager. They support in the effective day to day management of the nursery and undertake tasks delegated to them. They will assist in setting and implementing objectives, policies and procedures for the nursery and support in staff recruitment, training and management.
Your responsibilities
- Co-ordinating the Room Leaders and staff team and supporting in the rooms as required to ensure the smooth day to day organisation and operation of the nursery
- Overseeing and supporting plans and activities to ensure that children aged 0-5 years old gain positive and appropriate early play and learning experiences
- Supporting the Manager in the day to day running of the nursery and deputise for the Nursery Manager in their absence
- Supervising and appraising nursery staff as directed alongside the Manager
- Ensuring the nursery is a safe environment for children, staff and others ensuring risk assessments are up to date and health and safety guidelines are followed
- Developing partnerships with parents / carers to increase involvement in their child’s development
- Supporting with administration requirements
