What is an Assistant Warehouse Manager?
The Assistant Warehouse Manager supports the Warehouse Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of goods. This role is crucial in maintaining high levels of productivity, safety and compliance within the warehouse.
Your responsibilities
- Assisting in managing all warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing and dispatching goods
- Overseeing the maintenance of warehouse equipment and the layout of the warehouse to ensure optimal workflow
- Supervising warehouse staff, assigning tasks and monitoring their performance
- Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of warehouse personnel
- Coordinating regular stock checks and audits to minimise shrinkage and ensure accurate stock levels
- Working with the Warehouse Manager to improve workflows and reduce operational costs
- Ensuring the warehouse complies with all legal and company requirements regarding health and safety
- Conducting risk assessments and implement safety protocols
- Assisting with audits and inspections as required
- Generating and analysing reports on warehouse operations, stock levels and performance metrics
- Assisting the Warehouse Manager in preparing and managing budgets for warehouse operations
