What is an Assistant Store Manager?
The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the store. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer service, managing inventory, and assisting in meeting sales targets. The Assistant Store Manager will also step in for the Store Manager in their absence, ensuring the smooth running of the store.
Your responsibilities
- Assisting in managing daily store operations, ensuring efficiency and productivity
- Maintaining store cleanliness, organisation and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- Supporting the Store Manager in leading and motivating team members
- Assisting in training new staff and providing ongoing coaching to improve staff performance
- Helping to conduct regular staff meetings to communicate store goals and updates
- Handling customer inquiries, complaints and issues in a professional and timely manner
- Monitoring sales trends and performance, providing suggestions for improvement
- Supporting promotional and marketing activities within the store
- Assisting in managing inventory, ensuring stock levels are maintained and replenished
- Ensuring accurate stock check counts, report discrepancies, and assist with ordering stock
- Overseeing visual merchandising to ensure products are displayed attractively and align with company guidelines
- Helping to manage the store's financial operations, including cash handling, deposits and reconciling sales figures
- Assisting in creating and maintaing staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage
- Taking responsibility for the store in the absence of the Store Manager, making key decisions and managing operations
