What is a Warehouse Supervisor?
A Warehouse Supervisor oversees the general operations of warehouse staff. They train and supervise warehouse employees and evaluate their performance to ensure compliance. Warehouse Supervisors maintain and record inventory levels and ensure the efficient delivery of goods.
They delegate various day-to-day tasks to warehouse staff and receive updates on the state of operations.Â
Your responsibilities
- Planning work rotas for warehouse employees
- Checking orders, inventory and deliveries for accuracy
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- Conferring and coordinating activities with other departments
- Maintaining records, reporting relevant information and preparing any necessary documentation
- Measuring and reporting the effectiveness of warehouse activities
- Organising and maintaining inventory and storage areas
- Adjusting work procedures and practices to accommodate improvements
- Communicating with customers to answer questions and solve problems
- Determining staff levels and assigning appropriate workloads
