What is a Care Worker?

A Care Worker supports individual’s with all aspects of their day-to-day living, including social and physical activities, personal care, mobility and mealtimes. Care Workers can work in care homes, in individual’s own homes or in the community.

Care Workers who work in the community are sometimes called Domiciliary Care Workers which often involves travelling to different individual’s houses. People who work in nursing care homes are sometimes called Residential Care Workers, Support Workers or Carers.
