What is a Room Leader?
The Room Leader / Team Leader will be qualified at least to Level 3. They will be responsible for the day to day running of a room / group within a setting. They perform an important role caring for children, maintaining a high-quality, stimulating learning environment, supervising staff and imparting their knowledge and skills to others. They are creative and reflective leaders able to implement new ideas and use a range of strategies to continually improve practice and support the management team.
Your responsibilities
- Ensuring room ratios and rotas are in line with policy, and staff breaks are supervised efficiently
- Ensuring daily room registers and records of children in attendance are accurate
- Adhering to health and safety policies, completing risk assessments, hazard logs and documentation as set out in the operational plan
- Arranging agendas for room meetings which support continually evolving high standards of practice.
- Delegating roles and tasks amongst the team to utilise individual’s skills and knowledge and enhance professional development
- Overseeing the settling in of new children in a sensitive manner, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed
