What is a Senior Sales Executive?
Sales Executives are responsible for selling new and used vehicles, from cars and motorcycles to vans and commercials trucks.
In larger organisations you will work as part of a team or specialise in one aspect of selling, however in smaller organisations you may be responsible for all aspects of vehicle sales.
As a Senior Sales Executive, you will have additional responsibilities which will usually include being a mentor to other Sales Executives as well as prospecting to new and existing customers, qualifying, demonstrating, and selling a product and promoting the additional accessories, warranties, insurances, and protection products on offer.
Your responsibilities
- Responsibility for managing the full sales process
- Greeting customers, discussing their needs and advising them on the most suitable vehicle
- Arranging test drives and keeping the forecourt and vehicles clean and tidy
- Negotiating sale and trade-in prices
- Offering the highest levels of customer service by providing a knowledgeable, responsive and efficient service
- Mentoring and supporting Sales Executives, ensuring they are working to the best of their ability
- Calculating out finance arrangements and packages, which may include organising registration plates, road tax and delivery of vehicles
- Highlighting additional products relevant to the customer
- Processing orders and completing relevant paperwork and carrying out stock checks, which may include using manufacturer's databases
- Updating customers on the progress of orders and contacting potential customers to update them about new vehicles and deals
